- Hi there. Sorry to pester everyone, but I have what I think is a fairly
- simple question. I am trying to get a modem to work on our office's phone
- system. It's a multi-line system (4 lines) I believe. I don't think
- there is a PBX.
-
- When you pick up a phone, if you want to call, you *have* to press a 'line
- button' on the phone to activate it. There is no automatic dialtone. The
- problem is, of course, that the modem does not know how to get a line and
- gives me the message "NO DIALTONE."
-
- How can I fix this? Is there a simple AT command that I can affix to the
- dialing command (or something) that will allow the modem to pick a phone
- line? Help! Help! Help!
-
- Thanks very much.
-
- Your friend,
